On 12 March, presented the first results from a representative study on migrant market at ITB. Technically, the study implemented by the European Tourism Institute at the University of Trier (ETI) was. emprisch The comprehensive study identified several knocks fixed dates and numbers and formulate future hypotheses in order to plan target group hiking infrastructure effectively. Economic impact, hiking motives and lifestyle groups are highlighted. This creates another valuable study tools for both hikers planning and design offices as well as the tourism associations of migrant destinations, or those regions that want to be. From the geographical perspective view, the new basic research not be missing in the university libraries of the division of leisure and tourism geography.
At first glance, my two main theses fall out of the study - not really new, but reaffirmed: the professionalization of the traveling market must continue to advance, that is not only voluntary members of hiking clubs should be responsible for the roads infrastructure, other Hiking professional competence is advisable and necessary. And: To be competitive in the Germany-wide and international touring market have consistently invested in quality and qualifications.
